I'm working on version 2 of Ameegos (off and on, expect it to go live in like a year!) and while I have some ideas for new features (which include bigger interface, laaaarger video, ignore feature and so on) I still need some suggestions...
What's missing? What would make it easier to use? For example would it be good to have the actual chat area on 2 tabs, one for main messages and another for whispers? Or would that be too much clicking back and forth?
I'm also planning user thumbnails, so instead of having a male/female icon you can upload your own little pic. But then woudl that make genders harder to identify? Or do we maybe need a thumb AND an icon? Suggestions on a postcard.

For christ's sake, all I asked for last time was an ignore button...and I was....ignored.
the idea of blocking certain ppl from viewing yer cam is great! that way, we can avoid 'hey, show me your sex, bady' lmaoooooooo. well it may not completely deter that, but at least we would have a choice.

actually i am not planning on blocking certain people from viewing your cam - I think that would be a bit of a showstopper. But allowing you to ignore certain people, ie they can't whisper and bother you directly.
Macman, I like the idea of a thumbnail with a certain border to show gender. However we may also have couple symbols, male/male, female/female... I'll have think this over.
babe-envy, what do you mean by better way to ban people? Isn't account banning good enough? IP bans may be a possibility but they can sometimes stop legitimate users, although I agree that this wouldn't happen very often.
Definitely an ignore button, but how about a request ban button that notifies the admin so troublemakers can be banned later when admins aren't around?
Instead of stopping people viewing cams can you work it so you allow people to view your cam instead, i.e. the default is can't view?
Banning on IP address will be a problem for those on dynamic IP addresses.
One other thing - perhaps a good idea to display other room names better. The fact that other rooms are in use can be lost to new users not used to the chat. Just an idea

But seriously, I think you need another couple of admins that don't work on Canada/USA time. There are quite a few occasions where people are bieng abusive and neither Macman, Stoem, Naomi or Emily are around.
Apart from that, it's spot on!
I mean IP banning stoem. It is annoying banning someone 20 times over in a day!

Also more admin, yes no problem. We have enough regulars - who wants to volunteer? LOL Kidding, don't flood me with requests!
The roomlist will be on view all the time (thanks Chris), I agree that will make it easier to see and use.
Userlist will probably be combined with cams list, so you'll have a cam icon instead when cam is on. click it to view the cam (you just wait, the new userlist will kick ass).
Rooms will have access features build in, ie you can open a room and only allow females in. any male account trying to log into that room won't be able to etc. There could be rooms for couples only (we'll have at least one new gender), male/male only etc etc
We'll see, good stuff.
